Caudalíe Vinotherapie® Spa
The concept of vinotherapy was created by Mathilde Cathiard-Thomas and her husband Bertrand Thomas. The couple learned about the powerful impact of grape seeds, skins and stems on skin from a professor at Pharmacy Faculty of Bordeaux. In 1995, the Thomas’ launched a line of beauty products made from grape by-products; The first time stabilized polyphenols were used in dermo-cosmetics.
The pair followed the line with the opening of the world’s first wine spa in 1999. The spa is called Les Sources de Caudalie and is located in a castle in the Bordeaux region in France. The success of the first spa prompted the couple to open another wine spa in 2003, this one in the Italian Piedmont. They then opened a spa in Spain in 2006 and here at The Plaza in 2008.

The Caudalie Vinothérapie® Spa is the perfect oasis in which to relax and restore skin, body and mind. The spa artfully melds the signature Caudalie Vinothérapie® Spa elements – warm precious wood, relaxing dark stones and symbolic vine sculptures – to create a warm modern ambiance. Fourteen treatment rooms, a Vichy shower, a private VIP room for two, Vinothérapie® Spa signature barrel bath, two Hammams and an exclusive French Paradox Wine Lounge create a unique environment for Caudalie’s world renowned skin care rituals.
Spa treatments include a menu of world-famous facials with grape and vine active patents to purify, firm, energize and illuminate your skin. Try the Vinoperfect Facial, Honey & Wine Wraps, a Crushed Cabernet Scrub or the Wine Maker’s Massage for the body. Treatments are all manually therapeutic and performed by trained Vinotherapists. Each offers the restorative benefits of grape and grapevine polyphenols. A special Fresh Grape Manicure and Fresh Grape Pedicure service has been added exclusively for the Plaza.
As at all Caudalie Vinothérapie® Spas all treatments are exclusive to Caudalie. Guests are served organic draining herbal tea with red vine leaves and grapes during their visit to the spa. In addition, a special menu of small plates selected by the founders to complement and enhance the flavors of their personally selected wines will be offered in the exclusive wine lounge. The Caudalie Vinothérapie® Spa at The Plaza allows you to escape reality in an environment of absolute beauty, legendary history and incomparable service.
The Spa is open 7 days a week, Monday-Friday 10am-8pm, Saturday 9am-8pm and Sunday 11am-6pm.
